With this programme, WWTF aims to promote empirically oriented social sciences in order to address relevant societal questions and challenges. Calls in this programme pursue two objectives: on the one hand, to strengthen the scientific foundations in the social sciences, and on the other hand, to contribute to evidence-based decision-making through the funding of societally relevant research projects. A connection to Vienna and Austria is therefore of central importance for the topics to be researched.
